driving the point home
Just finished reading “Forgetting Again” on Jeremy Keith’s blog. It turns out that while people are fond of saying “the Internet never forgets,” it’s more accurate to say that it rarely remembers. Jeremy reminds us often that publishing our thoughts and photos on services that probably won’t be around forever is a dangerous business, and I’m always grateful for the reminder.
As if to underscore the point he was making, the next post my feedreader turned up (yeah, I still use RSS, what of it?) was Jeffrey Zeldman — someone who was publishing daily to his site long before the word blogging had been invented — posting just to link to something he published on Medium.com instead of his own site.
