does this new site design make my ass look big?
OK, the redesign for this site is pretty much complete: new graphics and color scheme this morning. Now it’s time to put web design aside for a while and work on the dang house.

Well, my CSS Zen Garden entry is now blooming in the garden, in the “conceptual” category. Good enough for me.
Looking forward to some golf with Mike & Tom Reed this weekend…
Another new layout for this site. Been in one of those moods, I guess; can’t get enough web-twiddling. In fact, today we relaunched another site for a Fernandez Group, Inc., client: NRS Consulting Engineers. I must confess that I inherited this design, so I didn’t do any of the cool graphics, but I converted its nightmarish nested-table layout to CSS… so now it’s a hell of a lot faster and more accessible. Hopefully, soon we’ll get the nod to develop a really cool database-driven case studies section for the NRS site as well; that’ll be fun.
That’ll be fun? Woah, I’m turning into quite the little geek.
Been real busy doing cool stuff to our house, especially this weekend, but found the time to redo my CSS Zen Garden site. I tweaked the layout and code to fix some of the functionality/accessibility issues, and added a few more images. I’m pretty pleased with the results.
Lots of web design stuff going on at work these days; looking forward to reporting on that when some of the cool stuff we’re doing goes live.
Well, I managed to create enough free time to build my own CSS Zen Garden entry. I don’t think it can make it into the “official” gallery because the layout breaks terribly at 150% text zoom in Mozilla, but I’ve worked too long on it to tweak it any further… Basically, at 1024×768 resolution and 100% font size it’s a pretty nice looking design, and that’s about it. Of course it’s not nearly as good as some others in the Garden, but I’m still sort of a novice, especially with creating funky graphics for the background images. Thanks to Sophie, Jason, Mitko, Eric, anyone I may have forgotten from the CSS-D list, and of course Cheris for encouragement and advice on the design as it evolved over the course of the week.
Spent the entire weekend hanging a new exterior door on the back of our house. Carpenters we ain’t. Still, the finished result looks great despite all the sobbing and gnashing of teeth that went on. Photos to come.
I’m hoping to make a little free time this week to build my own contribution the awesome CSS Zen Garden web design gallery. Still, construction projects of a more tangible nature (my desk, wall/base moulding, and a zillion other things for the house) may just have to take priority.
